Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has submitted the 2026-2028 MTEF to the Rivers State House of Assembly.

Speaker of the House, Martin Chike Amaewhule, read a letter from Governor Siminalayi Fubara conveying the submission of the 2026–2028 Medium-Term Expenditure Framework to the Assembly at an emergency sitting convened this morning.

The sitting comes more than three months after the House last met in plenary to screen commissioner nominees forwarded by Governor Fubara. Before then, the Assembly had convened on January 8, when it initiated impeachment proceedings against the governor before adjourning and subsequently failing to reconvene on its scheduled resumption date of January 15.

At the end of plenary today, the House deferred debate on the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework to a later date as a presented by Nigeria info.
